Health Communication: the framing of a communication module for SUS residents

Summary: This research proposed to delineate a module of Health Communication to be
inserted in the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Family Health of the
Capixaba Institute of Education, Research and Innovation in Health (ICEPi),
linked to the State Health Department of Espírito Santo. To do that, was
used the Case Study and the Content Analysis to analyse the formation of
residents, courses and subjects about Health Communication offered in Brazil
and interviews with ICEPi’s managers and residents and users of the Unified
Health System (SUS). Was used theoretical references of Health Communication,
Educommunication and Permanent Health Education. The goals was to understand
how the researches in Health Communication can contribute to the formation of
healthcare professionals who work in the SUS; map Educommunication’s
researches and actions on the search of the most importants concepts to
substantiate the module’s construction, through research on scientific
basis; do the lifting of Health Communication’s teaching initiatives for
healthcare professionals and the strategies and tools used; interviews to
understand the perception of managers and residents about the relevance of
the theme to the formation and the content offered and, from surveys,
elaborate one proposal of module in Health Communication that take into
consideration the state of the art, the previous initiatives and the
interviews with the professionals involved and users of the SUS.
