Teaching Internship
The teaching internship is mandatory for all scholarship students and optional for regular students. See Resolution CAR/UFES No. 26, dated August 29, 2024:
Article 3 – The Teaching Internship must comply with the following criteria: I – for programs offering both Master's and Doctorate levels, the requirement applies only to the Doctorate; II – for programs offering only the Master's level, the requirement is transferred to the Master's; III – the internship is mandatory for scholarship students and optional for regular students; IV – the internship may be paid at the institution's discretion, but funding from CAPES is not allowed; V – the minimum duration is one semester for the Master's and two semesters for the Doctorate; the maximum duration is two semesters for the Master's and three for the Doctorate; VI – the Scholarships Committee is responsible for registering and evaluating the internship for credit purposes, as well as overseeing supervision and monitoring; VII – higher education faculty who can prove such activities are exempt from the internship; VIII – the internship activities must align with the research area of the graduate program in which the student is enrolled; IX – if an agreement is established between educational systems through the appropriate authorities and all other conditions in this article are met, the internship may be completed in public high schools; X – the maximum workload is 4 hours per week.
Article 4 – The internship corresponds to 60 hours (4 credits).
Article 6 – The internship should preferably take place in the student’s second or third semester.
