Summary: This research addresses the communication processes of three domestic workers' unions in Paraguay: the Sindicato de Trabajadoras del Servicio Doméstico del Paraguay (SINTRADESPY), Sindicato de Trabajadoras Domésticas del Paraguay-Legítimo (SINTRADOP-L) and Sindicato de Trabajadoras Domésticas y Afines de Itapúa (SINTRADI). The general objective is to identify educommunicative and citizenship aspects developed in the communication experience of domestic workers' unions and their joint action through the "Equal Value, Equal Rights" campaign of 2018-2019, within the scope of the fight for equal pay. Union
communication among domestic workers is analyzed as a form of Popular Communication, including its relationship with the construction of citizenship and with educommunicative practices of non-formal and informal education. The methodology
used combines bibliographic research and multiple case studies through documentary analysis, semi-structured interviews and qualitative analysis of digital social networks. The results indicate a central position in the use of the media in the strategy of union struggle, as well as in the production of meanings around paid domestic work in search of equal labor rights and overcoming situations of oppression and discrimination in domestic work historically experienced in Paraguayan society. It is also noted that educommunicative practices are visible in the development of two radio programs, constituting spaces for the exercise of freedom of expression and the construction of critical thinking, in the same way that they allow us to observe a vocation for the exercise of the right to communication. The perceptions of research collaborators regarding the development of communication skills are documented, from which the existence of a relationship between communication and empowerment can be interpreted.
