Summary: On May 25, 2016, a user published on Twitter a video of a collective rape of an adolescent occurred in a favela in Rio de Janeiro. The fact raised among the users of the social network a debate about the persistence of rape in Brazilian society and culminated in online campaigns against rape culture, central concept to the feminist movement, guided by the hashtags #EstuproNuncaMais and #EstuproNãoÉCulpaDaVítima. Based on data collected between
May 24th and 27th, using script Ford, a tool developed by the Laboratory of Image and Cyberculture of Ufes (Labic/UFES) and out in light of both Malinis (2016) social networks perspectivism analysis and the concepts of feminist theory, a study was drawn on the narratives built by Twitter users on the crime of rape during the period stated. After the analysis, it was concluded that online campaigns had a strong influence of feminist thinking but not of the movement itself, with the world of adolescent fandoms as the main factor for
raising the campaign to viralization status. It was also observed the use of the mentions tool as a way of reporting the legal authorities and, in addition, the high number of users allied to a low number of profiles communities and the explosive percentage increase of the use of hashtags as possible data for the formulation of a index of virality of social media campaigns.
